Pulau Ubin half-day tour
:o)
Bad weather.
To be trekking on Pulau Ubin.
Dirty.
K let's see.....Today I went to P.Ubin with three friends. Woke up at 8.30 to get prepared. Brought along a 1.5 litre bottle of water, an extra shirt, an umbrella, bought a few bread, and a good mood. But it had to rain. Arrrrgggh.
Well met them at Changi Village at 11.10am. I was late. haha. Anyway we had our brunch there. I miss the food there. The hawker centre serves a variety of good food. Go there and try some if you can. The bus terminal is directly beside the hawker centre and there are only two buses: 2 and 29.
Next was the bumboat ride. $2 one way. It was an enjoyable 10mins ride which brought back a lot of memories.....I shall not go into that. So we reached Ubin, and dark clouds started to form. Wasted some time at the 'CBD' area. Nothing much has changed here. And the stage where I suppose is used for operas is still not used. In fact i've never seen it used everytime I was there. And there are still a lot of hungry dogs and cats. Anyway, they finally bought an umbrella and we rented two 2-seater bicycles and were off to explore Ubin with me as the 'tour-guide'. hehe.
So we cycled along some tracks. And there were a lot of uphill slopes to conquer. I had quite a hard time peddling my friend up. ahaha the thigh muscles are sooooo tight now. Anyway, the actual rural areas have changed tremendously. Not much animals were seen. And most people who used to live there have abandoned their homes. There was practically no life at all. There was this one place where the family reared many poultry, but when we visited them today, the animals were all gone cos they have been confiscated by the government. I inquired from the old woman and she told me that everything was gone. She looked frustrated and sad. I feel sorry for her. The things that had kept her company and feed her was all gone. Just imagine the effort put in to rear the poultry.....The families there have basically nothing to live for on that island already.
Anyway we visited quite many places. Like the Marina Country Club Resort, a sort of hidden Thai temple that i've never been to, many other temples, and other abandoned shops. Ubin has really nothing to see now. Probably made worst by the weather. But we had fun today and it's a good experience~ It's still a nice place to visit with your friends. We took a lot of photos and videos. ahah. If got chance i will upload them.
We left the island at 6+ to Tampines for dinner. ahahha so dirty and smelly. Had dinner at Ajisen Ramen. It's expensive. I had a Volcano Ramen set meal. Not bad lah, though i wasn't quite sure what I was eating. And i still prefer Crystal Jade's noodles.
K im tired and lazy to think of what else to write.
